Agonda Beach Vacation Guides
Agonda Beach is a great spot for sunbathing, relaxing and swimming, with still relatively few tourists. This seemingly endless pristine beach stretches for around 3 kilometers and it’s lined with simple beach shacks. Hawkers aren’t allowed on the beach, so you’ll be able to remain refreshingly undisturbed.
This beach is far from commercialization yet. The serene environment, even in peak tourist season, makes it a must visit if you are looking to unwind yourself from the rush of busy cities. This beach would give you much more than the promised peace and tranquility. People are friendly and the market in the adjoining village serves as the main go-to place for daily needs.
Agonda beach is located in south Goa, 43 kilometers (26 miles) from Marago and 76 kilometers (47 miles) from Panaji. It’s 10 minutes north of the much busier Palolem beach, south Goa’s most popular beach.
Agonda’s beach is very simple and natural. There are some sunbeds but when the tourist police or Canacona local government officials appear, any beach shades, sunbeds, chairs etc which are outside the confines of the shacks disappear pronto and the beach looks even more gorgeous and makes you realise why you went there and not to some built up resort.

Agonda Beach Hotels
Most people choose to stay in a coco hut on Agonda beach. Romance Beach Huts are recommended in this guide to the best Goa beach huts. Alternatively, Cupid’s Heaven has clean and cheap rooms by the beach. Monsoon is a lovely little family run guest house at the northern end of Agonda beach, with very reasonably priced huts and room. Hangout, new and also at the northern end, has impressed its guests. Shanti Agonda huts are recommended as well. If you’re looking for something a bit more upmarket, H2O has sea view and garden view cottages on the beach. Also check out Agonda White Sands huts and villas.
